Deathloop - Review
Every morning, Deathloop's protagonist, Colt Vahn, wakes up on the beach surrounded by empty beer bottles. He relives the same day over and over again with all the different residents of Blackleaf Island.
He wants to break the cycle of time, but a mysterious girl named Juliana does not allow it. Juliana and Colt spend their games selling and selling bullets and jokes to each other. Their compatibility was my favorite part of the game. That is, until the end of Deathloop cools me down.
I smashed the game and saw all the achievable endings, so I wish I hadn't. Even if I'm fascinated by the odds and mysteries that still have to be developed, I miss my model, which was 90% the best in history. Because Deathloop's solution is either annoying or inadequate.
If you did a deathloop, you would have a lot of the same questions as mine. For example, why do Colt and Juliana retain their memories, but different residents of Blackleaf do not? Apparently, he was able to retain his memory before, so why did the Colt Deathloop begin with amnesia? Why do Colt and Juliana come across their own replicas from different timelines when there are no different characters and their replicas appear to be outside the time cycle? If not, shouldn't the entire island be filled with duplication? How did Colt's former self write these floating magical messages that his future self should seek? And why does Juliana hate him so much?
I wish someone told me that Deathloop wouldn't answer all the questions in an acceptable way. That way I could sit and love the ride quality more than see his crumbs. Now that we've won the match, we can't recover from the inequality between strong satisfaction with the great load in the second half of the match and dissatisfaction with the messy end.
I won the game and saw all the achievable endings, so I wish I had nothing
To get out of the Deathloop cycle, Colt will have to kill a full-time bike leader known as Visionary in the future. All visionaries need to trick themselves into putting themselves in the right place at the right time (because they are killed). It's a mysterious field, and it's satisfying to unravel. However, the story is not summarized very effectively, as many puzzle elements are completely missing. I never find a solution to my question about the duplication of Colt and Juliana, or Colt's message from his previous self, or how Colt and Juliana retain their memory. bottom. All I got was a few theories from Reddit.
Then there's a big twist in the game, which can be shocking, and it also reveals nothing appealing to the game's greatest characters-Julianna is Colt's daughter. Colt flirts with Juliana for up to one-third of the game, so Deathloop makes this discovery annoying, even if guessed in advance. From Back to the Future to BioShock Infinite and 12 Minutes, the story of a science fiction novel about time travel also seems to be enjoying the "Oops, you're involved" army. Combined with the fact that Juliana's mother died and Colt was an absent father, you got a kind of typical bingo.
